Make time to review Word Knowledge for the ASVAB.  The questions on the ASVAB are multiple choice.  Today’s questions is “What does insipid mean?”  As someone who tutors for the ASVAB, I tell my students to look for Latin and Green root words in the vocabulary words.  This is helpful but is not always the way to figure out the meaning of a  word.  In this example, the word “insipid” does not have any root words.  It is the type of word that either you know the meaning or you do not.  No prefix, no root word or no suffix to analyze in the word insipid.  In my ASVAB prep course, I make sure to review 20-30 vocabulary words for each session.  I focus very heavily on ASVAB math help, but I never overlook the Word Knowledge section of the test.
