What Math Topics does the ASVAB Tutor Cover in Arithmetic Reasoning ?
Most people who contact me for tutoring say that they need to improve their score in the Math sections of the ASVAB. The section that people seem to need the most help in is Arithmetic Reasoning. Arithmetic Reasoning is the section that includes math word problems. There are a few reasons why this section is challenging. First of all, the word problems can be a bit tricky in deciding what they are asking. Most of the word problems involve multiple steps which can be time consuming. The other great challenge is beating the time limit on each question. In my ASVAB prep course, I focus very heavily on providing ASVAB math help for the exam. I focus on finding the quickest and most efficient way to solve each problem. I remind everyone that if they are solid in their math skills, they will be prepared for the examples on the test. If you know fractions, you know fractions no matter what example is presented. I wrote a study guide for Arithmetic Reasoning which I use in my ASVAB prep course.
