Word Knowledge Video
My study guide, The ASVAB Tutor’s Word Knowledge and Paragraph Comprehension Study Guide reviews the two verbal sections of the ASVAB. To review for the vocabulary section of the ASVAB, I remind my students of the importance of reviewing prefixes, root words, and suffixes as well as the most common ASVAB vocabulary words. Yesterday the ASVAB vocabulary word “wary”. This is one of many words that could appear on the Word Knowledge section of the ASVAB.
The question is:
What does wary mean?
- Contrary
- Cautious
- Weak
- Potent
To explain the meaning of the word, I presented the word “wary” in video format.
I present my cat, Mr. Cuddles® in video format where he presents the word “wary” in context.
Mr. Cuddles® is dressed up as a police officer and says, “I like to tell people make sure you’re wary at night. When you go out for a walk, always stop and look over your shoulder. Make sure you’re cautious. Stay safe out there.” From the context of the sentence, it can be seen that the word “wary” means cautious or careful. Did you know the meaning of the word “wary”?
