One of the former students of my ASVAB prep course is now a Marine.  I remember when he started tutoring.  I asked him how motivated he was.  I told him that motivation was a critical component in what was necessary to help his ASVAB math score to improve.  I quickly learned that he had immeasurable levels of motivation.  When I saw the dedication he put into becoming a  Marine, I never questioned his motivation levels again.  He worked a  full time job and devoted about 20 hours a week to studying for the ASVAB each week.  All different times of day, I would receive screenshots of math problems that he had solved successfully with pride.  One of the benefits of being a person who tutors for the ASVAB is watching the journey of someone who has the dream of joining the military from the very beginning and watching it through to completion.  Just recently, this former student who is now a  Marine was very proud of his achievement of receiving a coin from the Sergeant Major.  The Sgt Major told him to keep up the good work, and that the Marines are counting on him.  One day you are studying for the ASVAB, and before you know it you are being honored for your military achievements.  Never underestimate the significance of studying for the ASVAB.
