Word Knowledge
Yesterday I presented an ASVAB vocabulary question.
What does “brusque” mean?
As an ASVAB tutor, I remind my students of the importance of studying ASVAB vocabulary words to prepare for the Word Knowledge section of the test. Yesterday I asked what “brusque” means. Brusque does not have a prefix, root word, or suffix. The word brusque is an adjective. Either you know the word, or you do not. In my book, The ASVAB Tutor’s Word Knowledge and Paragraph Comprehension Study Guide, I presented the word “brusque” in 2 sentences in my book. The first sentence was: Michael gave Jessica a brusque response to her question about his job interview, and she was surprised by his rude reaction. The second sentence was: My friend, Snuggles, gave me a brusque comment this morning. I said, “Hi Snuggles, how are you? and he said, “Whatever.” I just cannot believe how rudely brief he was with me today. I present the second sentence in video form where my cat, Mr. Cuddles, presents the sentence in a video. Brusque means rudely brief. Did you know the answer?
