What does “accost” mean?

Today’s question is a vocabulary question that asks about the word “accost”.  The word “accost” is one of many words that could appear on the Word Knowledge section of the ASVAB.  Savory is a word that does not have a prefix, root word, or suffix.  Accost is a verb.  It is an action word.  It is the type of word that either you know its meaning, or you do not.  There is no part of the word to analyze.  I wrote a book, The ASVAB Tutor’s Word Knowledge and Paragraph Comprehension Study Guide.  Savory is one of the over 500 words I presented in my book.  I present 2 sentences for each word that provide context clues to help the reader figure out the meaning of the words.  Do you know what accost means?  I will present the answer and explanation tomorrow.
