Word Knowledge

Yesterday I presented an ASVAB vocabulary question.

What does “obscure” mean?

As an ASVAB tutor, I remind my students of the importance of studying ASVAB vocabulary words to prepare for the Word Knowledge section of the test.  Yesterday I asked what “obscure” means.  Obscure has a prefix ob-.  The prefix ob- means against.  In my book, The ASVAB Tutor’s Word Knowledge and Paragraph Comprehension Study Guide, I presented the word “obscure” in 2 sentences in my book.  The first sentence was:  The view of the ocean was obscure because of the fog.  The second sentence was:  The cloudy sky is causing an obscure moon tonight.  I really can’t see the moon very well.  I present the second sentence in video form where my cat, Mr. Cuddles, presents the sentence in a video.  Obscure means dark or not easily seen.  Did you know the answer?
