Word Knowledge

Yesterday I presented a question on an ASVAB vocabulary word.

What does the word “frugal” mean?

As an ASVAB tutor, I remind my students of the importance of studying ASVAB vocabulary words to prepare for the Word Knowledge section of the test.  Yesterday I asked what “frugal” means.  Frugal does not have a prefix, root word, or suffix.  Either you know the word or you do not.   In my book, The ASVAB Tutor’s Word Knowledge and Paragraph Comprehension Study Guide, I presented the word “frugal” in 2 sentences in my book.  The first sentence was: Rosa was very frugal with her money, making sure to watch for sales, cut coupons, and return bottles for recycling.  The second sentence was: I have always been very frugal with my money.  I make sure I watch out for sales and cut coupons.  I present the second sentence in video form where my cat, Mr. Cuddles, presents the sentence in a video.  Frugal means not wasteful, being careful about money, thrifty, or economical.  Did you know the answer?
