Inspirational Quote from Nelson Mandela
The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall. -Nelson Mandela
Today’s quote is from Nelson Mandela. Nelson Mandela was a South African anti-apartheid revolutionary. He fought for an end to apartheid. Apartheid was the policy of segregations and political, social, and economic discrimination against the black majority in the Republic of South Africa. Mandela spent 27 years for standing up against apartheid. After being released from jail,
he served as the first president of South Africa from 1994 to 1999. He was the country’s first black head of state. His quote today tells us that the greatest glory is not in never falling but in rising every time we fall. This quote comes from a man who faced more than his share of struggles and opposition in life. He went from spending 27 years in jail for fighting for equal rights for black people in South Africa to ruling the nation. In working as an ASVAB tutor, I like to tell my students stories of inspiring people like Nelson Mandela. Upon hearing the story of Nelson Mandela, most people are encouraged by his ability to overcome. When most of us look at our own troubles, they pale in comparison to what he faced. So, I want to remind you not to be disappointed in falling, just rise one more time than you fell.
