Admiral William McRaven is a retired U.S Navy four-star admiral. He made a graduation speech that went viral. As a result, he wrote a book called, Make Your Bed. Admiral McRaven presents tips on how to succeed in the small things at life. He reminds us that if you do not succeed in the little things, you will not master the big things. As an ASVAB tutor, I can relate to this quote. I remind my students to celebrate the small victories in life. They do not need to wait for passing the ASVAB to celebrate. They can celebrate mastering fractions, mixed numbers, algebra as they master each one. In life, we need to focus on the small things because the small things lead to the big things. Put effort into everything you do whether big or small because it all matters.
