Inspirational Quote
The secret to getting ahead is getting started. -Mark Twain
Mark Twain was a 19th century writer who wrote The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn among many other books. Before he became an author, he worked as an apprentice with a printer, worked as a typesetter, and worked as a riverboat pilot, among other jobs. His quote reminds us of the importance of getting started in order to get ahead. Sometimes when we have a large task before us, we do not know where to begin. The key is to begin. Break the large task before you into smaller achievable goals. Then progress can happen. As an ASVAB tutor, I remind my students that the first step in improving their ASVAB score is realizing which areas need work. After realizing what areas need work, they can focus on getting started. Every journey starts with the first step.
