Joan of Arc was a peasant girl living in medieval France who went on to be a national heroine of France. She was a peasant girl who believed she was led by God, went on to lead the French army to victory at Orleans. She was captured a year later and burned to death by the English. She went on to be named a saint by the Catholic church. Her quote reminds us of the power of the mind. She believed that the battle is won or lost in the mind before the actual battle takes place. She calls on us to believe in ourselves. As an ASVAB tutor, when I meet students with a mindset where they refuse to give up on themselves, I see great things happen. The battle is in the mind. Make up your mind that you will succeed, put the work in, and win your battle.
