In life, people expect things to go according to plans. Too many people map out their lives, expecting to achieve certain milestones in a certain way and at a certain time. Life is not as simple as it seems. There are detours in life. If we become disappointed, we can become discouraged enough to miss out on the beauty of the journey. As an ASVAB tutor, I meet many students who feel as if their life has been detoured because of not passing the ASVAB on the first attempt. I remind them that they cannot change the past. They need to fix the situation and appreciate the good things in their lives on the journey. Take time to enjoy the detour.
