If the volume of a rectangular box is 120, the length is 8, the width is 5, what is the height?
As an ASVAB tutor, I emphasize the importance of reviewing geometry for the Mathematics Knowledge section of the ASVAB. The students in my ASVAB prep course are reminded to study the formulas for area, circumference, surface area and volume of various shapes. I remind my students of the need to learn the formula for the volume of a rectangular box. The rectangular box is one of the many shapes that I review the volume of in my book, The ASVAB Tutor’s Mathematics Knowledge Study Guide. In this case, we know the length and width and volume of the rectangular box. We need to figure out the height. Do you know the formula for the volume of a rectangular box?
