In working as an ASVAB tutor, I emphasize the importance of studying Latin and Greek prefixes, roots, and suffixes.  Today the question asks which choice presents a suffix with the same meaning as the suffix -able.  The suffix -able means able.  There are many English words with the suffix -able.  Examples include capable, incapable, adaptable, replaceable, culpable, preventable, etc.

The meanings of these words are:

Capable means having the ability to do or achieve a specified thing.

Incapable means unable to do or achieve something.

Adaptable means able to adjust to new conditions.

Replaceable means able to be replaced or substituted.

Culpable means deserving blame.

Preventable means able to be prevented or avoided.

Do you know another suffix that has the same meaning as -able?

I will present the answer and explanation tomorrow.
