If a right triangle has an angle that measures 40 degrees, what is the measure of the third angle?
- 40 degrees
- 50 degrees
- 90 degrees
- 140 degrees
In working as an ASVAB tutor, I include a review of triangles in my ASVAB prep course. The subtopic of triangles is one of the 15 subtopics I included in my book, The ASVAB Tutor’s Mathematics Knowledge Study Guide. I remind my students of the importance of knowing the different types of triangles based on their angles, the different types of triangles based on their sides, the total sum of the measure of the 3 angles in a triangle, the Pythagorean theorem, and more. In order to answer today’s question, it is essential to know how many degrees are in a right triangle and how many degrees are in the three angles of a triangle. Do you know the answer to today’s question? I will present the answer and explanation tomorrow.
