As an ASVAB tutor, I focus on the importance of reviewing prefixes, root words, and suffixes. Metric measurements have prefixes that help to reveal the meaning of each of the measurements. There are Latin and Greek prefixes in metric measurements. One of the 15 subtopics I review in Arithmetic Reasoning is measurement. I remind my students of the importance of knowing the different conversions in measurement to be able to answer the questions. I included different Latin and Greek prefixes related to numbers in my book, The ASVAB Tutor’s Word Knowledge and Paragraph Comprehension Study Guide.
