As an ASVAB tutor, I review the different types of questions that appear on the Paragraph Comprehension section of the ASVAB. One type of question is author’s tone. The author’s tone is the attitude that the author brings to the piece being written. The tone could be positive, negative, or neutral. There are many different tones that an author can show in the piece. The tone is not directly stated in the piece. The reader needs to read between the lines to figure out the author’s tone. Do you know the author’s tone in a biography? I will present the answer and explanation tomorrow.
