Absolute Value
What is the absolute value of 5?
Absolute value is one of the numerous subtopics that I review in my ASVAB prep course. As an ASVAB tutor, I remind my students that absolute value is one of the subtopics that can appear on the Mathematics Knowledge section of the test. Absolute value is one of the subtopics I explain in my book, The ASVAB Tutor’s Mathematics Knowledge Study Guide. When you understand the concept of absolute value, it is not a very difficult topic to master. The absolute value of a number is known as the distance from zero along a real number line. When you look at this question, ask yourself, “What is the distance of 5 from 0 on a number line?” The answer and explanation will be posted tomorrow.
