What is .40 x .90?

As an ASVAB tutor, I remind my students of the importance of reviewing decimals for the math sections of the ASVAB.  It is critical to know how to perform basic operations with decimals: adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing. Adding and subtracting of decimals follow the same rule when it comes to decimals.  It is important to line up the decimals and bring down the decimal into the answer.  Multiplication and division of decimals have different rules from adding and subtracting and different rules from each other.  Lining up decimals when multiplying fractions is not necessary.  Do you know how to multiply with decimals?  I will present the answer and explanation tomorrow.
