Today’s quote is from a Nike commercial with Michael Jordan. The full message is, “It’s not about the shoes. It’s about knowing where you are going. Not forgetting where you started. It’s about having the courage to fail. Not breaking when you’re broken. Taking everything you have been given and making something better. It’s about work before glory and what’s inside of you. It’s doing what they say you can’t. It’s not about the shoes, it’s about what you do in them. It’s about being who you are born to be.” This is a powerful message that I feel is a powerful message for many of the people I tutor for the ASVAB. I meet so many people who have become discouraged by past failures. They need to focus on where they are headed. They need to pull themselves up and healing their brokenness. They need to put in the hard work to claim their victory and fulfill their destiny.
