Latin Root Ante-
In my ASVAB prep course, I remind my students to study prefixes, root words, and suffixes. I wrote a study guide entitled, The ASVAB Tutor’s Word Knowledge and Paragraph Comprehension Study Guide. In addition to presenting over 500 vocabulary words in my book, I also present charts of prefixes, root words, and suffixes. Yesterday I presented a root word “ante”. “Ante” is a Latin root word. Do you know the meaning of the word “ante”? Ante means before. If you know that ante means before, it can help you to recognize some unknown vocabulary words. Examples of words with the prefix ante are: antediluvian, antechamber, antecedent. Study all the key parts of the ASVAB. Make sure you study both math and vocabulary to help improve your overall ASVAB score.
