In our world, too many people call other people lucky when things work out for them. People see others with good jobs, they call them lucky. People see others who are physically fit, they call them lucky. People see others who have newer cars, they call them lucky. People see someone who just passed a difficult exam, they call them lucky. Luck has nothing to do with it. Success does not happen by luck. It happens through determination, consistency, and tenacity. As an ASVAB tutor, I teach a group ASVAB course. I have students who call other ones lucky when they pass the ASVAB. Luck is not the right word. They did not see the late nights of studying. They did not see the notebooks filled with math problems. They did not see the index cards filled with vocabulary words and definitions. When people call others lucky, they are attributing success to luck because the hard work is not as appealing. Remember success has nothing to do with luck. Work hard and reap the rewards.
