Ayn Rand was a Russian born, American writer and philosopher. She is known for her fictional pieces and her development of a philosophical system known as Objectivism. In her later years, she wrote non-fiction to promote her philosophy. Her quote showed her courage. In saying that the question isn’t who is going to let me; it’s who is going to stop me, she showed fearlessness and determination. Ayn Rand sounded like the kind of person who had goals and plans and no one would stand in the way of her fulfilling those goals. As an ASVAB tutor, I see the significance of a quote like this. In working to achieve the goal of enlisting in the military, it is a powerful viewpoint to say who is going to stop me. When you live your life believing that no one can stop you from achieving your goals, you have developed a mindset where you plan to overcome all the obstacles in your path. A never give up mindset is critical in achieving goals in life.
