Converting fractions to percents is a  common topic I cover in my ASVAB prep course.  As an ASVAB tutor, I make sure to remind my students of the

importance of being able. to work with fractions.  Knowing how to properly solve problems with fractions will help to improve your ASVAB math score.

Fractions can turn up on both the Arithmetic Reasoning and Mathematics Knowledge sections of the ASVAB.  To change the fraction to a  percent.

Set up a  proportion.

3/5 = x/100

Cross multiply to solve.

5x = 300

Divide 5 into 300.

The answer is 60%.
