Arithmetic Reasoning
Yesterday I presented a question on converting a percent to a fraction.
Change percent to a fraction.
950%
As an ASVAB tutor, I place a strong emphasis on the conversion of fractions, decimals, and precents in preparation for the Arithmetic Reasoning section of the ASVAB. The topic of conversions of fractions, decimals, and precents is one of the 15 subtopics that I review in my classes that cover Arithmetic Reasoning. Many people do not like to work with converting fractions, decimals, and precents, but I remind them of the importance of being able to do these conversions for this exam. Today’s question requires the conversion of a percent into a fraction.
To change a fraction to a percent, place the number over 100
950% = 950/100
Then reduce.
950/100 = 9 50/100 = 9 ½
The most reduced form is 9 ½.
Did you know how to convert the percent into a fraction?
