Paragraph Comprehension
Yesterday I presented a true/false question about ways to improve reading comprehension skills.
True or False
Listening to audiobooks can improve your reading comprehension skills. The answer is true. Audiobooks can improve your reading comprehension skills. In listening to stories, it helps you to better understand the story. Audiobooks can also improve your vocabulary. The wonderful thing about audiobooks is how they can become a part of life in the time that might have been wasted. As an ASVAB tutor, I remind the students in my ASVAB prep course that an audiobook can fit into anyone’s life. You can listen as you drive, as you cook, as you get ready. You can devote time to listening to an audiobook instead of spending time of social media. One great feature of an audiobook is hearing how new words are pronounced. Sometimes when we encounter a new word in a book that we never heard before, we might incorrectly pronounce the word especially if the word has a foreign origin. Make sure you try out an audiobook!
