Mathematics Knowledge

Yesterday I presented a question about the area of a parallelogram.

What is the area of a parallelogram if the base is 6 and the height is 4?

In working as an ASVAB tutor, I remind my students of the importance of knowing the necessary formulas for the Mathematics Knowledge section of the ASVAB.  To answer this question, it is essential to know the formula for the area of a parallelogram.  It is a simple formula.  Once you know the formula, it is an easy example to solve.
The area of a parallelogram is A = bh

Area = base x height

In this case, the base is 6 and the height is 4.

A = bh

A = 6 x 4

A = 24

The area of the parallelogram is 24.

Did you know the formula for the area of a parallelogram?
