Yesterday I presented a question about the area of a circle.

What is the area of a circle if the radius is 4?

In order to answer this question, it is essential to know the formula for the area of a circle.  As an ASVAB tutor, I remind my students of the importance of knowing the formulas for geometry.  I remind them of the need to study the formulas for circumference, area, surface area and volume of a variety of shapes.

The formula for the area of a circle is:

A = pi x radius squared

A =pr2

p = 3.14

A = 3.14 x 42

A = 3.14 x 16 = 50.24

Area = 50.24

Did you know how to answer this question?
