40 is what percent of 160?
This question can be solved using the following formula.
is/of = %/100
40 is what percent of 160.
40 is the “is”
160 is the “of”
The percent is what is missing.
is/of = %/100
40/160 = x/100
Cross multiply and solve for x.
4000 = 160x
Reduce to become 400 = 16x
25% = x
The answer is 25%.
