Paragraph Comprehension
Yesterday I presented a question about the types of questions on the Paragraph Comprehension section of the ASVAB.
What type of question would you not find on the Paragraph Comprehension section of the ASVAB?
- true/false
- detail
- vocabulary
- inference
As an ASVAB tutor, I remind my students of the different strategies that help in answering the different types of reading comprehension questions. The different types of questions include main idea, detail, vocabulary, sequence, inference, cause and effect, author’s tone, author’s purpose, etc. In my book, The ASVAB Tutor’s Word Knowledge and Paragraph Comprehension Study Guide, I present tips on how to find the answers to these different types of questions. To answer this question, it is possible to see choice B, choice C, and choice D questions on the ASVAB. The Paragraph Comprehension section of the ASVAB could include detail, vocabulary, and inference questions. The one that you would not find on the ASVAB is choice A, true/false questions. All the questions on the ASVAB are multiple choice questions. True/false questions are not an option on this exam.
