In working as an ASVAB tutor, I present my students with tips on answering reading comprehension questions. Knowing how to quickly find the answers to the questions will help boost the score on the Paragraph Comprehension section of the ASVAB. My book, The ASVAB Tutor’s Word Knowledge and Paragraph Comprehension Study Guide, presents tips on answering the different types of questions on the Paragraph Comprehension section of the ASVAB. One type of question that can appear on the Paragraph Comprehension section of the ASVAB is a sequence question. In answering sequence questions, it is important to pay attention to the order of events. It is helpful to become familiar with sequence words. The question presents four choices. Three of the four choices are sequence words, and one is not. Choices B, C, and D are sequence words. The words: then, later, and finally focus on the order of events.
