Yesterday I presented a question about the area of a trapezoid.  In working as an ASVAB tutor, one of the formulas I teach is the area of a trapezoid. If one base is 6 and one base is 8 and the height is 3, what is the area of a trapezoid?

The formula for the area of a trapezoid is:

A = ½(base 1 + base 2) x height

Base 1 = 6

Base 2 = 8

Height = 3

A = ½(6 + 8)3

A = ½(14)3

A = 7 x 3 = 21

The area is 21.

Did you know how to solve this problem?
