Which of the languages is a Latin language?

In working as an ASVAB tutor, I remind my students of the importance of studying Latin and Greek roots words. When I meet students that speak one of the Latin languages have an advantage in understanding vocabulary words. Many words in English come from Latin. The English language is not considered a Latin language even though it has Latin influences. English is a Germanic language. Do you know which language is a Latin language from today’s choices? Portuguese? Russian? Swedish? Polish? I will share the answer and explanation tomorrow.
