Paragraph Comprehension
What is the author’s tone in a ghost story?
As an ASVAB tutor, I teach my ASVAB prep course students about the different types of questions that can appear on the Paragraph Comprehension section of the ASVAB. The types of questions include main idea, detail, vocabulary, sequence, cause and effect, inference, author’s purpose, and author’s tone. Author’s tone is the attitude or mood of the story. Author’s tone is not directly stated in the story. The reader needs to read between the lines to figure out the author’s tone in the story. What do you think the author’s tone would be in a ghost story? I will present the answer and explanation tomorrow.
