As an ASVAB tutor, one of the topics I cover is author’s purpose. Author’s purpose is one of the types of questions than can appear on the Paragraph Comprehension section of the ASVAB.
Author’s purpose is the reason the author wrote a piece. Three of the main types of author’s purpose are: to inform, to entertain, and to persuade. Do you know what the author’s purpose is in writing an advertisement? I will present the answer and explanation tomorrow.
