Dolly Parton has a meaningful quote in reminding us that if we want the rainbow, we need to put up with the rain. Sometimes we need to go through difficult times to reach our goals. Nothing worthwhile comes easily. Have you ever seen a rainbow without a storm? In life, our greatest rainbows come after our greatest storms. The best things in life are worth the hard work, the effort, and the struggle.
As an ASVAB tutor, I meet many people who sign up for my ASVAB prep course who have faced many adversities in achieving their goals. I have seen people who have struggled with the exam. Many of them needed help with ASVAB math. Other needed help with ASVAB vocabulary and reading. Others have struggled with living situations, weight issues, family issues, the list goes on. Seeing people who struggled so desperately finally achieve their goals has been like watching the rainbow come out after the storm. No matter how many times we see a rainbow, we are still impressed. I am always impressed with the rainbows I see in my students’ lives.
