Paragraph Comprehension
In my book entitled, The ASVAB Tutor’s Word Knowledge and Paragraph Comprehension Study Guide, I discuss the different types of questions that appear on the Paragraph Comprehension section of the ASVAB. One type of question that can appear on the ASVAB is a sequence question which asks about the order of events. Paying attention to the sequence words in a passage help with understanding the order of events within the story. Yesterday I presented a question on sequence words. The choices are: because, then, eventually, and finally. Did you know which of the words presented is not a sequence word? The word “because” is not a sequence word. It is a cause-and-effect word.
