President’s Day

Since I work as an ASVAB tutor, I see the significance of recognizing special holidays that are important in our nation.  Today is Presidents’ Day.  Presidents’ Day is a federal holiday that is celebrated on the third Monday is February.  This holiday started in 1885 in recognition of President George Washington.  Washington’s birthday was February 22. In 1968, the holiday was adapted to also honor the birthday of President Abraham Lincoln.  Lincoln’s birthday was February 12.  It has also been said that this holiday celebrates all the American presidents.
