Paragraph Comprehension Question on Author’s Purpose
As an ASVAB tutor, I remind my students of the importance of understanding author’s purpose.
In my book, The ASVAB Tutor’s Word Knowledge and Paragraph Comprehension Study Guide, I review the different types of questions that can appear on the Paragraph Comprehension section of the ASVAB. One type of question is author’s purpose. Author’s purpose is the reason the author wrote the piece. Do you know the most common examples of author’s purpose. Can you identify which of the examples are not an example of author’s purpose? I will present the answer tomorrow.
