When I started ASVAB tutoring about 10 years ago, my focus was solely on the ASVAB prep course I had designed. I focused on the exam and on providing ASVAB math help and vocabulary help for the students I met. In the beginning, I focused on my students’ entry into the military. As the years have passed I have learned that one of the great aspects of being one of America’s ASVAB tutors is the opportunity to see my students progress throughout their military life. As the years passed, I continued tutoring and learned so much along the way. I saw many of my students get deployed, get stationed overseas, and get stationed all across America. I have seen the heartwarming family reunions they posted on social media after long absences. I have seen their longing to be with family and friends for the holidays. I have seen civilians turn into military heroes. Military service comes with sacrifice. Sacrificing time with your family to ensure a free America, and for that I am thankful. I salute each and every one of America’s military heroes for raising their right hand and swearing in and accepting the challenge of keeping America the land of the free and the home of the brave.
