SSGT Urena is a Staff Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps. He was once a skinny kid with a big dream of serving our country. He followed through on his dream and joined the Marines. Over the years, he has moved up to the ranks to become a Staff Sergeant. SSGT Urena takes pride in his family, his country, and the Marine Corps. As a Marine recruiter, he motivates young people to pursue their dreams and reminds them of how he never gave up on his dream. He takes pride in changing lives. SSGT Urena is a positive role model for the Marine hopefuls that he encounters.
As someone who tutors for the ASVAB, I believe that getting to know people like SSGT Urena is one of the benefits. I enjoy hearing the stories of recruiters like him who motivate young people to pursue their dreams and never give up. In teaching my ASVAB prep course, I focus on providing ASVAB math help and vocabulary help. Motivating others is a key part in encouraging people to join the military. I am happy to see that some applicants are fortunate enough to meet inspirational recruiters like SSGT Urena.
