Motivational Monday
To inspire people, don’t show them your superpowers. Show them theirs. -Unknown
In life, too many people try to impress others by bragging about themselves. Seeking to impress others is not the way to inspire others. To inspire others, you need to show them what is special about them. Each one of us has our own special talents or gifts in life which we could call our own superpowers. There is nothing more powerful than showing someone their own superpowers. When people see the greatness that lies within themselves, they become unstoppable. Their sense of motivation and pride drives them forward to pursue their goals. In working as an ASVAB tutor, I seek to pair up my students with each other. I see the academic strengths and weaknesses of each student and like to pair up students with opposite skills. When I see a student who is strong in math and weak in vocabulary, I realize that student would work well with a student who is weak in math and strong in vocabulary. Instead of focusing on their weaknesses, this makes each student realize they have something to offer their study partner. It helps to build their self-esteem and foster learning. Do not focus on your own strengths. Help others to see theirs.
