In life, we spend too much time worrying about what others think of us. Today’s quote reminds us not to worry about the people who talk about us behind our backs and they are behind us for a reason. In life, we need to do what makes us happy. In teaching my ASVAB prep course, I meet countless people who decided to pursue their goal of enlisting in the U.S. military. They made the decision in spite of all the naysayers. Many of the people I have tutored for the ASVAB have had people in their lives who did not believe in their dreams of enlisting. They have heard discouraging words from others. Are you sure you are in good enough shape to enlist? Don’t you need a lot of help with your math to pass the ASVAB? Are you sure you are brave enough to serve? It is important to turn a deaf ear to the negative talk of those around you. The only person you need to prove yourself to is yourself. Remember that.
