Motivation
Today I present a survey question about which verbal section of the ASVAB in which you need more help. The two verbal sections of the ASVAB are Word Knowledge and Paragraph Comprehension. Word Knowledge is the vocabulary section of the test. This section presents a word and asks its meaning. The answers are presented in multiple choice format. The Paragraph Comprehension is a reading comprehension section. It presents stories and multiple-choice questions about the stories.

How would you answer this question?
I meet some people who struggle with the Word Knowledge section while they score better on Paragraph Comprehension. Sometimes people might not know vocabulary in isolation but can understand a story’s meaning when the context is present. I meet some people that struggle to finish reading the Paragraph Comprehension passage in the allotted time and do better on the Word Knowledge section.
