MK Triangles Answer
In teaching my ASVAB prep course, I remind my students of the importance of knowing the different types of triangles for the Mathematics Knowledge section of the ASVAB.
In learning triangles, I remind my students of the importance of knowing the different types of triangles: equilateral, isosceles, and scalene triangles, acute, right, and obtuse triangles. I also make sure to review Pythagorean theorem in working with right triangles.
Yesterday I presented a Mathematics Knowledge question on triangles.
The question asks:
What type of triangle has 2 equal sides and 2 equal angles?
- Scalene
- Isosceles
- Equilateral
- None of the above
To answer this question, I will explain the different types of triangles.
A scalene triangle is a triangle that has 3 different sides and 3 different angles.
An equilateral triangle is a triangle that has 3 equal sides and 3 equal angles, and each angle is 60 degrees.
The correct answer is an isosceles triangle which has 2 equal sides and 2 equal angles.
