Mathematics Knowledge Answer
In my role as ASVAB tutor, I remind my students of the importance of studying geometry and algebra for the Mathematics Knowledge section of the ASVAB.
Yesterday I presented a Mathematics Knowledge question.
This is a geometry question on the topic of perimeter.
I remind my students of the importance of knowing how many sides all the shapes have including: quadrilateral, pentagon, hexagon, heptagon, septagon, octagon, nonagon, decagon, undecagon, hendecagon, and dodecagon.
The question is:
What is the perimeter of a hendecagon with each side equal to 7?
- 42
- 70
- 77
- 84
To be able to figure out the perimeter of a hendecagon, you need to know how to find perimeter of a shape and you need to know how many sides a hendecagon has. To find the perimeter of a shape, add up all the sides. A hendecagon has 11 sides.
Each side is equal to 7. There are 11 sides. To find the perimeter of this shape, you can multiply 11 by 7.
11 x 7 = 77.
The perimeter is 77
The answer is Choice C. 77.
