The ASVAB Tutor’s Mathematics Knowledge Study Guide is my book that I published on Amazon.  My book reviews various subtopics in algebra and geometry.  I include 15 subtopics in total.  One of those topics is algebra with fractions.

Today I present a Mathematics Knowledge question.

The question includes algebra with fractions.

Many of my students are not comfortable with fractions while some are not comfortable with algebra.  This problem includes both of these topics.

The question is:

If 3/4x + 3 = 18,

What does x equal?

  3. 20
  4. 24

Do you know how to solve for x in an example that includes fractions?
