If the perimeter of a square is 20, what is its area?
As an ASVAB tutor, I remind my students of the importance of knowing formulas for area, volume, and surface area. I let my students know that they only need to remember to add up the sides of a shape to find the perimeter. Knowing these formulas is a critical part of doing well on the Mathematics Knowledge section of the ASVAB. I included these formulas in my book entitled, The ASVAB Tutor’s Mathematics Knowledge Study Guide. I will present the answer to this question tomorrow.
