Mathematics Knowledge
As an ASVAB tutor, I focus very heavily on the math sections of the ASVAB. The two math sections of the ASVAB are Arithmetic Reasoning and Mathematics Knowledge. Yesterday I presented a question on Mathematics Knowledge. It was a geometry question. The question asks about complementary angles. Do you know what complementary angles are?
If 2 angle are complementary, and one of the angles measures 40 degrees, what is the measure of the other angle?
- 50
- 90
- 140
- 180
Complementary angles are angles that add up to 90 degrees. To answer yesterday’s question, if 2 angles are complementary and one measures 40 degrees, subtract 40 degrees from 90 degrees to find the answer.
90 – 40 = 50 degrees.
Did you know how to answer this question?
